The past week has been quite the whirlwind of events! First of all, I've been getting SO tired by about 7pm. I had to work last mon-tues then clean the house and wrap gifts for DH's dad and step-mom to come over to celebrate "Christmas". I sat on the couch at 6:45pm, as they were to arrive at 7 - and thought to myself "I'm so exhausted...do they HAVE to come over?". Anyways - it went very well - StepMIL jumped up and almost knocked me over..even though she is a very tiny lady.
The next morning I finished wrapping, packed, and headed "home" for Christmas with my family. Found out my sis and nephew wouldn't be joining us for Christmas Eve because nephew had strep. Picked up my other nephew - then began the Christmas Eve marathon - one grandma's house, another grandma's house...then Midnight Mass. Went to bed about 3am...glad that we could sleep in Christmas morning.
Got up at 8:30am (thought it was 9:30 because the clock was set wrong...hmm..so maybe we really went to bed around 2? I don't know!). Lounged around til my sis and nephews came over to open presents and played some Wii. They left, and a bit later another grandma, bro, and future sil came over for dinner and presents. Grandma's reaction to our news "I thought u were getting a little bigger"...umm...thanks..but that's just bloat. Followed by "You sure didn't waste any time". I forgave her later though when I was amused watching her beat my brother in wii boxing! Went to bed around 10pm...but woke up at 11pm to DH getting sick. I decided I better sleep in another room so as not to catch whatever it was.
Spent most of the day Friday taking care of sick DH - followed by Christmas at my aunt's house. Had to get up at 6:45 Saturday to give our dog a bath and head back to prepare for hosting Christmas with DH's family. Successfully deep fried our first turkey....and MIL also nearly knocked me over when she heard the news. I got in a 1/2 hour nap before bowling.
All in all the holidays were a huge success! I love the new leather jacket, gps, wii fit (it's SO fun!!) and especially all of the reactions from sharing our news with close family and just a few friends. Now I can't wait for ONE MORE WEEK 'til my first Dr's appointment. However, I'm willing for this week to go slow since I'm off work.
