UGH! I've had quite a bit of swelling in my legs/ankles/feet as well as my hands the past few days. Of course, it was the first few days of being REALLY warm. Tuesday night it was really bad, so I took my blood pressure at home and it was around 148/98. After laying down for 30-45 minutes it went down to 136/84.
Yesterday (Wednesday) - I had my follow up appointment with the GD nutritionist after work. I noticed my ankles were nastily swollen again (and I had been inside where I wasn't too hot). So when I got to my appt. I told her my BP may be high again. Sure enough it was like 152/98. She called my OB who decided to send me to L&D to be monitored - so I picked up DH and off we went.
At L&D I gave a urine sample (which showed +3 Protein), was hooked up to a monitor for a little over an hour (got to hear baby's heartbeat), and got blood work done. My blood pressure did NOT come down. In fact, at one point it was like 158/111. My blood work came back "borderline" - so they decided to admit me for 24 hours to monitor me and do a 24 hour urine collection. They gave me blood pressure medicine - and within a couple of hours it came down to normal (119/78).
So here I am....it's 7am and they just did another round of blood work. I'm here at least until 4pm (24 hours)...let's hope no longer! I guess yesterday was my last day of work (today was supposed to be)....and it looks like poor Mike might need to finish the packing on his own. I sure HOPE I don't get put on bedrest....but keeping baby cooking QUITE awhile longer is all that matters right now!
I'll update later when I know results!
