Human Pin Cushion

That is what you become when you are pg!

Today I had my 1 hr glucose test, OB appt, and Rhogam Shot (since I'm RH-Negative). So I thought I'd be efficient and do the glucose test first as soon as they opened then get upstairs to my appointment which was actually at the exact same time.

*Blood Draw #1

I go upstairs to my appointment, PIAC, blood pressure (which was fine..but she said my heart was racing...probably from going up the stairs...), weight (I think I put on quite a bit in the last 3 weeks, but I haven't really paid that close of attention, and no one said anything) then go in to see the dr.

I told him about my recent swelling in hands/feet, and numbness in the hands. His reponse was just that "It's normal. You're pg during the worst time (even though it hasn't even been hot yet!), and I've seen some women gain 10lbs of WATER weight in ONE week". Last night when I went to bed I also had a little, "pea-sized, red-colored, glob"when I used the bathroom. He just aksed if we'd been sexually active (umm..hardly at all!) - and still not concerned unless it continues/increases. THEN he tells me that I had some protein in my urine...so I had to go BACK downstairs to get another blood test done...to test for pre-eclampsia. He certainly didn't seem worried at ALL, so I'm not either (though he is VERY calm and always says EVERYTHING is "normal").

*Blood Draw #2

Then back upstairs for my rhogam shot. The nurses who do it apparently weren't in yet..so I sat around for about 15 minutes until the lady came in. She saw my two bandaged arms, and said after all this, DH should really treat me to a nice dinner tonight. Too bad he works til midnight.

So 2 blood draws and a shot later.....and here I am at work....feeling like crap. I could seriously lay my head down on my desk right now and sleep for awhile. Gotta rest up - we're moving the nursery tomorrow!
